About Browser Notifications
Engage supports browser notifications for Chrome and Firefox.
In Chrome, you can click the notification to open the Engage inbox. You can also Accept and Reject contacts right from the notification.

In Firefox, you can click the notification to open the Engage inbox. Accept and Reject actions are not supported in Firefox.

How to turn on Browser Notifications in Engage
- In Engage, go to Agent Settings > Notifcation Settings.
- Make sure you have ‘Enable browser notifications’ selected.
- Press 'Save'.
Chrome
- Once this is saved, your chrome browser will prompt you to allow notifications. If you do not see a prompt, check the address bar for a label that says ‘Notifications blocked.
- Click on this, and select ‘Allow for this site’.
Firefox
- Once this is saved, your firefox browser will prompt you to allow notifications.
- Click ‘Allow’.
You can check your Preference at any time for your browser:
Chrome:
- Type chrome://settings/ in the address bar
- Right-click the padlock next to the web address in your browser to view and edit site settings
Firefox: Type about:preferences in the address bar
- Click on the permission icon next to the web address in your browserto view and edit site settings
How to enable Browser Notifications in System Settings
Mac
- Go to System Preferences > Notifications and Focus
- Check that Chrome and Firefox have ‘Allow Notifications’ enabled
Windows
- Go to Start > Settings > System > Notifications & actions
- Under Get notifications from these senders, select the toggle next to Google Chrome and Firefox
Troubleshooting tips
- Make sure the you have enabled notifications in agent settings
- Browser notifications should be allowed for the site
- Your operating system should not be blocking notifications for both browser types
- Make sure you have an up-to-date operating system and browser version
- Make sure you are using a supported browser (Chrome and Firefox only)
- If the problems persist, reset site settings for Engage and enable notifications again. You can reset site settings by clicking on the padlock next to the web address for Chrome and the permissions icon next to the web address for Firefox.
